How to Be a Badass Like Brittney

Investing in yourself to create your ideal future

Brittney.

You know what the coolest part of writing this blog post is? Brittney is a real person who gets to read a blog post written about her being the absolute badass that she is.

My clients literally all deserve a blog post written about them. They’re all badass in their own respects. They’re business owners, mamas, adventurers, philanthropists, on and on.

But Brittney. So, this beautiful woman is a single mama of two. Which, if you are a parent, you can give her some props because it is NOT an easy feat to do all the things of life and parenting on one set of shoulders. But when Brittney and I sat down to chat about her business, there was no complaining or comparing, the point of the meeting was simple -

I want this business to work.

Brittney is a makeup artist. An ARTIST. But it can be insanely hard to grow a business when it’s based off of steady appointments and reviews plus lots of investment. For a single mom, that can be nearly impossible. But after years of working for a major makeup chain, Brittney had finally had enough. She needed more flexibility in her schedule and she was ready to grow her income by doing what she loved for people who truly appreciated her.

As a single mom myself I felt every word. That’s what’s so important about consultations... Me getting to know my client, but my client also getting to know me. Knowing that you’re not just another “client”, you’re someone who is busting their butt to make this journey work.

So we got right to work.

I set up a photoshoot with local photographer, Julie Holmes, and started planning out how we would begin to build Brittney’s online presence. Two days later we had three models for Brittney to perform her magic on and Julie was snapping away to capture the moment.

Next, Brittney and I worked together to create her branding. We focused on a celestial, moody theme for her color palette and detailing. We created her logo and got her socials set up and rolling.

Once Julie delivered the photo gallery we got Brittney’s work online!

Immediately, Brittney’s engagement shot up on Facebook and Instagram. We were seeing messages in her inbox for trial makeup and bookings. She. Was. DOING IT.

Now? Brittney is essentially running all of her own socials and doing makeup just about full time. We focused on the ins-and-outs of her socials and focused on how important it is to get her work uploaded consistently.

This is just one of many accounts that I have absolutely LOVED being a part of since starting Blossom Collective. To still be able to cheer for my past clients and watch their growth is something I am so very thankful for.

Now… is it your turn?
